SEAT Conference (Nashville)

A studio portrait from your stadium seat.

SEAT Conference · Nashville, TN2025
The SEAT Spotter rig — a PTZ camera trained on stadium seating.

SEAT Spotter is The Self-Portrait Project's stadium fan-engagement product, tagged "Reimagining the Fan Experience," that turns ordinary stadium seating into an interactive, photo-ready destination. Fans scan a QR code at their seat to trigger a PTZ-mounted DSLR and capture a self-portrait on demand — no need to leave their seat.

The brief

Reimagine the in-stadium fan photo. Ordinary stadium seating becomes an interactive, photo-ready destination — a studio-quality self-portrait taken from your own seat, without ever leaving it. The idea came out of the atmosphere of live sports, and our home games with the New York Mets.

What we built

A proprietary QR-triggering system paired with DSLR cameras mounted on PTZ (pan-tilt-zoom) heads. A fan scans a QR code at their seat to activate the experience; the system locates their position and converts their phone into a remote control that triggers the camera to shoot their self-portrait on demand. Captured photos can be instantly viewed, shared, or printed on-site. It debuted at the SEAT Conference in Nashville.

The outcome

SEAT Spotter debuted at the 2025 SEAT Conference in Nashville as a working product for teams and venues. It combines automation, personalization, and a lasting keepsake to change what a fan photo can be — not just a picture, but a moment captured on the fan's own terms, and a way for a venue to generate content, gather first-party data, and leave an impression. Season-level results aren't published yet.
