Self Portrait Project
Weddings

A self-portrait from every guest.

On your wedding day the two-way mirror becomes a living, digital guestbook. Every guest steps up, looks into their own eyes, and takes the picture themselves. You keep all of it — a portrait of your whole community, authored by the people in it.

InvestmentFrom about $1,500 — most weddings between $1,500 and $3,500.

A wide hero portrait from a wedding
The idea

The people you love through their own eyes.

A traditional photographer captures the day from the outside. Our mirror hands the camera to your guests. There's no operator hovering, no line being herded — just a quiet, elegant centerpiece that people return to all night, each leaving a portrait of themselves as they wished to be seen.

It's intimate by design. A good picture is always honest — and there's nothing more honest than someone looking directly into their own eyes on the happiest day of yours.

A wedding self-portrait — someone you love, as they saw themselves
On the day

Effortless for you. A delight for them.

01

We style it to your space

The mirror arrives and is set as a considered part of your room — not a branded booth, but a piece that belongs to the day.

02

Guests take their own

A remote in hand, they choose their own moment — alone, as a couple, as a whole table — and can draw a note to you right on the screen.

03

You keep every frame

Prints on the night as favors, and a private gallery of the whole evening delivered to you afterward — yours to keep.

Make it yours

Small touches, deeply yours.

Each is optional, and we'll guide you to what suits your day. The technology behind them

A drawn note to the couple

Guests sign or draw a message right on their portrait — your guestbook, made of faces and their own handwriting.

Your backdrop or monogram

A custom scene, your initials, or the colors of the day set behind every portrait.

Prints as favors

Every guest leaves with their portrait in hand — a keepsake more personal than any printed name card.

Live projection

Every portrait appears on a projected wall the moment it's taken — your guests watch the night become a living gallery of faces, and the mirror becomes the heart of the room.

“You will not get better quality pictures from any other photo-booth-style setup anywhere else. I’ve been to a million weddings, and the Self-Portrait Project is hands down the best — the lighting, the background, the camera height, right down to the remote. Every photo is absolutely beautiful.”

“Andy and the Self-Portrait Project were a dream. The coolest, most unique experience — our guests absolutely loved it, and everyone left saying they'd never felt more stunning than in those pictures.”

“Hands down the best wedding decision we made. Every aspect was seamless, from setup to receiving all 700+ photos in a digital album afterward. Our guests are still raving, and the photos are absolutely stunning high-quality portraits.”

“Our guests had a BLAST. Set-up was seamless, and the concept is so cool and novel — you could tell everyone really enjoyed taking their pictures themselves.”

“When we looked for a cool photobooth for our wedding, all we found were glorified iPads. Then we found the Self-Portrait Project — the custom camera housing is gorgeous, the foot-switch trigger beats any countdown, and the lighting made everyone look amazing. Cannot recommend them enough.”

“The setup, the service, everything. The photos turn out gorgeous, and the design is so minimal and sleek — it adds so much to your wedding. Highly, highly recommend.”

“We had SPP at our NYC wedding and cannot say enough good things. Andy was extremely communicative, sent someone on our final venue walk-through, and the setup was so polished. As soon as guests saw the quality of the black-and-white portraits, everyone went nuts over it.”

Good to know

Questions, answered.

How much does a wedding photo booth cost?

Most weddings start around $1,500, with the majority landing between $1,500 and $3,500 depending on hours, prints, and travel. Tell us your date and venue and we'll send an exact quote.

How is it different from a regular wedding photo booth?

Instead of an operator and a countdown, it's a two-way mirror: each guest looks into their own eyes and takes the picture themselves with a remote. There's no line being herded and no one else in the frame — just a quiet centerpiece your guests return to all night.

Do you serve weddings outside NYC?

Yes — we're based in New York, but we travel anywhere for weddings. Travel is simply quoted per wedding, so tell us your date and venue and we'll fold it into the quote.

What do our guests — and we — get to keep?

Every consented portrait is delivered digitally, and you receive a private gallery of the whole evening to keep. Guests can also leave with optional on-site prints as favors.

Can we personalize the portraits for our wedding?

Yes — optional touches include a custom backdrop or your monogram behind every portrait, and an on-screen drawing overlay that lets guests sign or draw a note on their own portrait. These are add-ons rather than the standard setup, so tell us what you'd like and we'll tailor the day to it.

What does the mirror need from our venue?

A standard power outlet, and wifi if the room has it — that's the whole ask. It stands freestanding, sets into ballrooms, lofts, and backyards alike, and we handle load-in, setup, and breakdown around your venue's schedule.

How far in advance should we book?

We take a limited number of weddings each season, so earlier is better for peak dates — but reach out anytime and we'll tell you what's open for your date.
