Back to our participatory roots.
Sit with our two-way mirror in our Lower East Side storefront — the same method Andy Lin built in Brooklyn in 2009. Look into your own eyes, choose the moment, and leave with frames that are yours. Portrait sittings and small groups by appointment.
You're the photographer. We just build the conditions.
Step up to the mirror
A two-way mirror, a camera behind the glass. A face-to-face representation system.
Take the shot
A remote in your hand. You choose the moment — you're the photographer, no one else in the frame.
Keep every frame
Your portraits are delivered to you — printed the same day, and yours to keep.
It joins the archive
If you choose to share it, your portrait enters the living archive — over two million and counting.

Every consented-to portrait joins the living archive. Browse the pop-up portrait studio sessions — where the storefront began.

Questions, answered.
How much does a studio session cost?
A session is $25 for 15 minutes and includes a 6×8-inch print — normally $10 on its own — in your hands the same day, plus a private digital gallery that's yours to keep. Pick a time online and we'll confirm the details.
How does a session actually work?
You step up to a two-way mirror with a camera behind the glass, so you see only yourself, looking into your own eyes. A QR-linked phone is your shutter — you choose the moment, with no operator and no one else in the frame. You are the photographer; we just build the conditions.
What do I leave with, and what do I keep?
Your portrait is printed the same day, so you leave with it in hand, alongside a private digital gallery. It's yours to keep — and yours to choose whether it's shared. If you do share it, your portrait joins the living archive of over two million.
Where is the studio, and how do I get there?
The studio is at 137 Rivington Street on the Lower East Side, New York, NY 10002. The closest subways are the F, J, and M trains, and directions are linked from the page.
What are your hours — can I just walk in?
There are no regular hours right now — the studio runs as a pop-up, by appointment. Portrait sittings and small groups are booked ahead: pick a pop-up time online and we'll confirm the details.
How do I book a session?
Booking is online — pick a slot on the page and you'll get a confirmation by email, scheduled through Cal.com. You can reschedule any time, and all times are Eastern. Planning an event, installation, or wedding instead? Make an inquiry.
Bring the mirror to your own room.
The studio is where it began — but the mirror travels. Events, permanent installations, brand activations, and weddings.
