The self-portrait, extended into time.

Inspired by Andy Warhol's Screen Tests, Moving Self-Portraits is an ongoing series prototyping a method of moving self-representation — the same act of authoring your own image, carried from the still frame into time.
Where the mirror captures a single authored frame, Moving Self-Portraits asks what changes when that authorship unfolds over seconds instead of an instant — a person holding their own gaze, becoming the author of a moving image of themselves.
These projects grow out of the archive and the people in it. If you have an idea for what a self-portrait could become — for a city, an institution, or a collaboration — tell us.
