Lincoln Summerhouse
29 DAYS |1,958 PARTICIPANTS | 4,580 IMAGES | 3,091 SHARES
We were approached by experiential agency Gradient to add an interactive photo component to Lincoln Motor Company’s activation at the South Street Seaport in New York City. Happening on busy Pier 17, the custom modified shipping container took advantage of heavy local and tourist foot traffic and provided refreshments, shade, comfortable seating, and, of course, a Self-Portrait Project photo mirror at one end. The mirror pointed out towards the East River with the picturesque, four-masted, iron-hulled Peking clipper ship serving as the background. The roof and standing platform of the mirror folded out at the beginning of the day on two motorized hinges, and folded back over the mirror at night, doubling as protection from the elements. Over the course of four activations comprising 29 days, SPP enabled thousands of images to be made and shared by almost two thousand participants.
